✨ Introduction – The Story Behind the Journey
The Canadian Rockies don’t whisper; they sing. Peaks like cathedrals, lakes like liquid light, forests that breathe with you. This is a journey we’ve lived again and again — Greg once called these mountains home; as a family we’ve returned three times. Every visit re-grounds us. The Rockies humble you, widen you, and somehow send you back more yourself.
Why We Love It
Here, adventure meets ease. You can chase glaciers in the morning, sip coffee in a quiet mountain town by afternoon, and watch stars spill over Lake Minnewanka at night. Once, along the Icefields Parkway, we stood still as a family of mountain goats ghosted past us after a glacier hike — a soft reminder that we’re guests in a wilder, older story.

Respect the Pace: Weather shifts fast; wildlife has right of way. Build buffer time and say yes to serendipity.
Nature as Guide: Before big views, take three slow breaths. Ask, What do I need to release?
Community Notes: Enjoy downtown Banff, seasonal farmers market, and our beloved Cascade of Time Garden — tiny sanctuaries amid grandeur.

🧘 Packing with Intention
Essentials: Layers (mountain weather changes fast), waterproof shell, comfortable hiking boots, sun protection, refillable water bottle, headlamp, bear spray (know how to use it).
Mindful Additions: Journal + pen, thermos/reusable mug for sunrise coffee, small first-aid, extra socks (always).
Leave Behind: Over-scheduling and expectations. Let the land set the tempo.
🌅 Reflection & Closing
It always moves us more than we can imagine. The Rockies feel like home — not because we’re from here, but because this is where we remember who we are. Carry that feeling forward: the wideness, the quiet courage, the way light finds water and turns it to prayer. This Banff Road Trip is once in a lifetime!
